A writing workshop with Mira Johnson for students ages 16+ 
$200 per student

WHEN

October 4, 11, 18, 25, and November 1, 2025
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

WHAT

This hands-on workshop series invites writers of all levels to play and experiment with writing in order to hone their craft within a supportive community of peers. Participants will develop skills in description, imagery, character development/voice, and narrative arc by producing original work and sharing it together for constructive feedback. The course includes in-class writing prompts, guided discussions, and analysis of published mentor texts as both inspiration and models. Designed for writers of all genres, this course creates a nurturing environment focused on revision and growth.

*Class is limited to 12 students & students must be able to attend ALL workshops.

INSTRUCTOR BIO
Mira Johnson, a 2018 BookEnds fellow, is currently working on a novel exploring the fault lines that appear in a marriage between two teachers after a school shooting. She has been published by Fourth Genre, The Southampton Review, The Southeast Review, Tupelo Quarterly, and Vela. Her fiction and nonfiction have earned her residencies at Bread Loaf, The Church, Eckerd College, the Key West Literary Seminar, Vermont College of Fine Arts, and Wolff Cottage. She teaches creative writing at Stony Brook University and runs the Jeanette Sarkisian Wagner Writing Workshop in Sag Harbor
