Personal branding enables students to communicate their story with clarity and confidence, build meaningful networks and professional relationships, and navigate the transition from high school to higher education and beyond.
Summer Writing Workshop with Mira Johnson
This hands-on workshop series invites writers of all levels to play and experiment with writing in order to hone their craft within a supportive community of peers. Participants will develop skills in character development/voice, description, dialogue, metaphorical language, and narrative arc by producing original work and sharing it together for constructive feedback.
Improv Comedy Workshop with Katy Berry
From the actors on SNL to the writers of countless TV shows and movies - improv comedy is the secret weapon in any artist's toolbox. The ability to create scenes on the fly doesn't just stretch your creative muscles, it also improves confidence, communication, and listening skills for life. This introductory comedy class will teach students the fundamentals of improv through exercises that explore concepts like yes-and, world building, truth in comedy, and trusting your instincts in a safe, supportive atmosphere. No prior acting experience is required, just a willingness to be weird!
Introductory Animation Workshop with Elanna Allen and Jimena Faerber
Star in your own animated movie through this animation workshop that uses YOU as the star! In this workshop, students will make movies using an animation technique called pixelation, which is stop motion that uses people as puppets. Students will storyboard, create sets and props, and finally, film their movies. The workshop will conclude with a special screening of the students’ films. No previous animation skills or experience required!
Page to Stage Musical Theater Camp with Our Fabulous Variety Show
Our Fabulous Variety Show’s signature Page to Stage Camp is a musical theatre camp where new and seasoned performers get the opportunity to bring their ideas to life, and create original theatre. Through engaging acting games, improvisation, music, and dance, students will learn how to create an original musical from scratch in just one week. Along the way, students will practice expressive communication, develop teamwork and empathy, and make creative decisions in a supportive ensemble environment.
How People Talk: 6-Week Screenwriting Workshop with Bill Finkelstein and Tony Spiridakis
Two writers (Spiridakis and Finkelstein) show scenes from movies that’ve influenced them. The emphasis is on dialogue - what works and why. The work of such directors as Billy Wilder, John Cassavettes, Louis Malle, David Lean, Alexander Mackendrick and Harold Pinter will be shown and discussed. We’ll trace the path these two professional writers have taken, veering as it has between poet and hack. Cautionaries will be dispensed with as much kindness as possible.
6-Week Acting Workshop with Diogo Martins
An acting class for all levels — from the curious beginner to the working actor. The approach is practical, intuitive, and responsive to each participant’s goals — whether that’s building confidence, freeing the voice and body, deepening text work, or simply rediscovering the joy of play and storytelling.
