Debra Riva, initially drawn to collage, has been consumed with an exploration of abstract/multi-media paintings for the past several years. Debra’s intention in her drawings, collages and paintings is to share her unique perspective of the world and in so doing invites the viewer to experience something of that view as well as their own experience. For that reason her work is not always titled so that the viewer can tap into her/his soul’s feeling and/or perspective. She is the Co-Founder of the Judaism and Art Program at Congregation Tifereth Israel in Greenport and has shown her work at the Leroy Neiman Art Center in Harlem and in May, 2023 at MyGalleryNYC in Brooklyn, NY., Spirit’s Promise Equine Horse Farm Art Gallery, Riverhead, NY August, 2025 and currently at the North Fork Art Cooperative in Greenport, NY.
