Brooklyn Ballet

Brooklyn Ballet is doing a 3-week residency at NFAC from May 3rd to May 18th, developing choreography for their upcoming season on our brand new stage.  Rehearsals will be open to the public, with interactive lectures and demonstrations given at our local public schools and senior centers, showcasing the discipline and elegance of ballet. Culminating in three showcase performances at the Sapan Greenport Theatre on May 17th and May 18th. (Ticket sales to be announced soon!)

First-Run Movies Are Back!

Starting Memorial Day Weekend, Friday, May 24th, NFAC will bring back newly released Blockbuster Movies to the North Fork, along with a dynamic selection of Award Winning Classic Films, 7 days a week, all year round. Enjoy the upgrades to our screen, lighting, and state-of-the-art surround sound systems. Get ready for an unparalleled immersive experience crafted to enrich and entertain our vibrant community just in time for the summer movies.

NFAC Fundraiser: Red Carpet Premiere of EZRA

World Premiere of EZRA, written by NFAC Founder Tony Spiridakis, Friday, May 31st. This one-night event includes a VIP reception with Tony followed by an in-person Q&A with the film’s stars Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, and director Tony Goldwyn. (Tickets on Sale Soon!)

EZRA centers on comedian Max co-parenting autistic son Ezra with soon-to-be-ex wife Jenna. Faced with crucial decisions about Ezra's future, Max and Ezra go on a life-changing cross-country road trip. Starring Robert De Niro, Bobby Cannavale, Rose Byrn, Vera Farmiga, Rainn Wilson, Whoopi Goldberg, and newcomer William A. Fitzgerald. Check out the trailer.

SUMMER EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING

Tube Town: An Award Winning Puppet Workshop For Kids

On July 16 & 17th, Tube Town, an interactive crafting-and-improv workshop that encourages kids and families to use (and reuse) everyday items (namely cardboard tubes) and heaps of imagination to create characters, stories, and worlds that reflect their lives. Students will craft puppets, buildings, roads and more to fill out their tube town! They will create a story that reflects their lives on the North Fork and bring it to life in a “commercial” that promotes all the awesomeness of Tube Town, North Fork! Ages 6 - 12. Kinetic Canvas: An Innovative Art and Music Program For Teens

July 29 to August 1st, this program envisions a multi-dimensional experience combining light painting techniques, music, and gestures — in collaboration with the Rites of Spring Music Festival, explores ways of presenting music and light as connected to emotion-filled themes like nature and the passing of the seasons. We encourage young people to venture beyond the technical aspects of learning a pre-written musical score into the realm of finding personal and cultural expression in between the notes, movement, gestures, and light painting.  Ages 12 - 16. Comic Book Drawing with Dean Haspiel For Teens and Young Adults

August 7 & 8th, Emmy Award-winning cartoonist Dean Haspiel best known for creating "The Red Hook" and illustrating for the HBO’s series "Bored to Death", will show students how comic-drawing and all forms of story-telling are connected.  His work spans Marvel, DC, Archie Comics, and Webtoon, with collaborations including Harvey Pekar, Jonathan Ames, Jonathan Lethem and Stan Lee. Ages 15 and Up. (Registration Coming Soon)

On June 15th, In collaboration with the Clinton Memorial AME Zion Church, The Southold Anti-Bias Task Force, and Coming to the Table, The North Fork Arts Center is honored to open our doors after the Greenport Juneteenth Parade to screen the documentary, Juneteenth: Freedom and Faith followed by a discussion.
