Friday, June 19th at 7:00 PM
Celebrate Juneteenth by allowing yourself to be transported to the 1800s through live music, dance, and gripping narrative as Jo-Ann Wilson shares excerpts from her historical fiction novel, The Diary of an Ex-Slave.
This interactive, oratorio style reading features a variety of musicians, singers, actors, and dancers, bringing the story of a young enslaved women's escape to freedom—and subsequent life as an abolitionist and storyteller— to life through movement.
This event is provided in partnership with the North Fork chapter of Coming to the Table, a group working to foster racial healing and justice.
