Katherine Oliver is a Principal at Bloomberg Associates, an international philanthropic consultancy founded by former New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. Overseeing the media and digital strategies portfolio, Katherine helps cities harness the power of media and technology to improve government services and support economic growth in these sectors.
She has served as an Executive Producer on several documentary films, most recently Jean-Michel (2026), a documentary on the life and legacy of artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. Prior to joining Bloomberg Associates, she served as the Commissioner of the NYC’s Mayor’s Office of Media & Entertainment (2002-2013). She is a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences and serves on the boards of the Academy Museum, Paley Center, Entertainment Community Fund, and the Center for Communication.
